TRIG has been ranked first as the best-selling ethical investment trust over the past year by interactive investor (ii), the UK’s second-largest direct-to-consumer investment platform.
ii publishes a rated list of ethical fund selections, ACE 40, and a longlist of more than 140 socially and environmentally responsible funds and investment trusts broken down into three investment styles: Avoids, Considers and Embraces, to help investors navigate the list.
TRIG is rated in the ‘Embrace’ category, identifying it as a fund that focuses on delivering positive social and environmental outcomes, which TRIG achieves through its investments in renewable energy and the support it provides in funding to its local communities. TRIG’s diversified portfolio of 77 renewable energy assets generated enough clean energy in 2020 to power 1.1 million homes, helping to avoid 1.2 million tonnes of carbon emissions whilst delivering a healthy income yield for investors.
Helen Mahy, CBE, Chairman of TRIG:
“We are pleased to see that TRIG is proving popular with retail investors. With Earth Day 2021 this week, we look forward to welcoming more investors that are seeking attractive and sustained returns whilst funding the renewable energy solutions necessary to tackle climate change.”
